Protest organisers of last year’s Freedom Rally failed to organize a mass return of supporters, with only about 250–300 people showing up on the lawn of Canada’s Parliament Hill. Last year on January 29, a self-styled "Freedom Convoy" of truckers rolled into the capital from across Canada, bringing the capital to a standstill for over three weeks, to express anger at COVID vaccine mandates.
