Description
The future Euro 7 pollution standard, currently under discussion, could push car manufacturers to increase the price of their vehicles by an average of 2,000 euros, warns the new president of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), Luca de Meo. The Euro 7 plan, applicable from 2025, would reduce nitrogen oxide emissions from passenger cars and light commercial vehicles by 35%, which, according to de Meo, "will have a strong impact on business and our people. The deadlines are too short... the boundary conditions are too broad... it could lead to the closing of at least four plants." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
