Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro says that he had a "fruitful" meeting with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk on his visit to Caracas. "I insisted that Venezuela went from a State that had as State policy the continuous violation of human rights, to a State under construction that has justice as State policy," says Maduro at an event to mark the start of the judicial year at the South American country's Supreme Court. The Venezuelan judiciary has been accused of serving Maduro with convictions of opponents and decisions favourable to his political agenda. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
