Description
Norway and Iceland come top in the world when it comes to electric car ownership, with Norway in first place and Iceland in second for most electric vehicles per capita. Last year electric cars made up almost 80% of the cars sold in Norway, with Oslo aiming to end petrol and diesel car sales by 2025. In both countries, consumers have been encouraged by a series of incentives offered by the government including tax reductions, lower tolls and public parking fees. The lower price of electricity and the widespread development of charging infrastructures is also presented as a key factor by drivers. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
