Master glassmakers are working to restore the splendour of the 12th century stained glass windows in the Basilica of Saint-Denis, which houses the remains of 43 kings of France. "The aim of this operation is to be able to give back to the 140,000 or so annual visitors the "light" that characterises the basilica," explains Laurent Roturier, director of the Ile-de-France regional directorate of cultural affairs.
