Description
In Munich, one of the biggest geothermal plants in Europe uses heat from underground waters to warm thousands of homes and offers a partial solution to make up for lost Russian gas supplies. "We must remain realistic, but the potential is still enormous and, in combination with other measures, can make significant contributions to climate protection," says Dr. Christian Pletl, head of production at Stadtwerke München, a German communal company owned by the city of Munich.
