Rescuers dig through rubble in Diyarbakir as the search for survivors of a deadly 7.8 magnitude earthquake continues in towns and cities across Turkey. The powerful quake hit the country's south and parts of neighbouring Syria just before dawn on Monday, killing nearly 1,800 people, levelling buildings and sending tremors that could be felt as far away as Greenland. "There is a building that I am responsible for" says Veysi Katkanim, a security guard in Diyarbakir, "the windows shook, I saw that it was an earthquake and I threw myself outside".
