The great Dutch painter, Johannes Vermeer, stars in the biggest ever exhibition of his works at Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum, where 28 of the master artist's works go on display from Friday, February 10, 2023. The paintings on show include The Milkmaid, View of Delft and The Girl with the Pearl Earring, in a gathering that Vermeer himself never had the chance to see. "When I walk through the exhibition, I realise more and more how Vermeer creates the perfect illusion" says Taco Dibbits, the Rijksmuseum's director, "it feels like you're standing in that room, together with the painting, with the person depicted."
