A monument to Soviet test pilot Valery Chkalov is taken down in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, as part of the country's continuing decommunisation program. "Although he performed outstanding feats as a pilot, he had nothing to do with Kyiv" explains Lyudmila, "it is artificial that this square was dedicated to him".
