Description
After two deadly mass shootings struck the Asian American community in California a few weeks ago, an increasing number of Americans of Asian descent are considering getting trained on how to use firearms to defend themselves, if such attacks were to happen again. Although Asian Americans have traditionally been less prone to buying guns, there has been a shift during the pandemic, with the community witnessing a surge of hate crimes, and a growing feeling of being unsafe in the streets. "Through my experience, anytime there's been a mass shooting, my business goes up," firearms instructor Tom Nguyen tells AFP from a shooting range. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
