Description
As the residents of Hatay, a multicultural city in southeastern Turkey bordering Syria, struggle to survive after an earthquake that killed nearly 40,000 people in both countries, the Syrian population, who have been living there for over decade, is becoming the target of growing anger. Deprived of safe shelter, electricity and running water, residents of the hard-hit city are facing increased looting, but also conspiracy theories about the sources of danger in the streets, which special forces and the army deployed throughout the city are now trying to prevent.
