Ukrainian soldiers patrol an area near Bakhmut, in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, just one or two kilometres away from Russian positions. Bakhmut -- described by President Volodymyr Zelensky as Ukraine's 'fortress' -- is the scene of the longest and bloodiest battle of the war between Ukrainian and Russian forces so far.
