Description
A dozen federal agents from Brazil's environmental agency IBAMA, armed with rifles and dressed in camouflage uniforms, launch an operation to dismantle an illegal mining camp inside the land of the indigenous Yanomami. The agents destroy engines, seize equipment and find bags of cassiterite ore, used in the manufacture of metal alloys, as well as precision scales and a flask of mercury. "It has nothing to do with (President) Lula or (former President Jair) Bolsonaro. No one will put an end to illegal mining in the world," says Eduardo dos Santos (fictitious name), as he gets arrested. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
