At the end of a German government meeting in Meseburg, German Finance Minister Christian Lindner stresses that "there is no legal certainty that vehicles with petrol or diesel engines can actually be registered after 2035 if they are fuelled with green fuel" as a result of a European Parliament decision. As part of Germany's tilt towards a green future, Chancellor Olaf Scholz says that one of his government's objectives is to have "15 million battery electric vehicles in operation by 2030".
