Description
Thousands of protesters take to the streets of Athens to mark International Women's Day and demonstrate over the country's worst rail tragedy, waving banners that read "the state murders" and "our lives matter". Fifty-seven people were killed, and 14 others remain in hospital after a freight train crashed head-on with a passenger train, carrying mostly students, on February 28. "We still don't know exactly how many have died. Today we celebrate Women's Day, and we owe it to the mothers who are crying for their children to be here," one protester tells AFP.
