Description
Images show police, graffiti and damage around the Georgian parliament building in Tbilisi as the country gears up for fresh anti-government protests, despite the ruling party's promise to drop its controversial "foreign agent" bill. Tensions in Georgia boiled over this week as thousands took to the streets to protest the bill, which many see as being reminiscent of Russian legislation used to silence dissenting media and opposition figures. Those protesting expressed fears that the country, with aspirations to join the EU and NATO, was drifting towards the Kremlin. "The fight will continue until these bills are withdrawn" says Ana Tsitlidze, a member of parliament with the main Georgian opposition party, United National Movement. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
