Description
Young doctors have chosen to work in the countryside rather than in the city, to work for the public service rather than in private practice. "It's a very special relationship with the patients," explains Dr Béranger Irondelle, who lives in Ariège. He visits his patients and receives them in a health centre opened last summer in the village of Sainte-Croix-Volvestre, in the middle of a medical desert. "We have come back to life" explains a pharmacist, as the opening of this centre has allowed for two general practitioners and a doctor specialising in gynaecology to work. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
