When Abhay Dang and Supriyo Chakraborty had their big Indian wedding in 2021, the gay couple had a police guard, and their union was never viewed as legally valid -- but that could soon change.
From 13 March 2023, five years after it struck down a law criminalising gay sex, India's top court will begin hearing a clutch of petitions seeking official recognition of same-sex marriages.
