Description
Associate Economist Edmund Cornforth of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research says that Britain’s newly-announced budget is “a lot less economically volatile" than that of former Prime Minister Liz Truss. He adds that it includes measures to help with the cost of living such as new support for childcare costs and an extension of the energy price guarantee. However, a question mark remains over the outcome of public sector strikes over pay, with the issue unadressed by Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
