Description
The founder of the world's largest chip maker, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) says he supports the United States' efforts to slow down China's progress in chip production.
"The United States has started to practice an industrial policy on chips. And part of the industrial policy is to slow down China's progress in chips. I really have no quarrel with that. In fact I might say, I support it," says Morris Chang, the TSMC founder.
Speaking at a forum in Taiwan with Chris Miller, the author of "Chip War", Chang also cautioned that the cost of semiconductors will go up which will affect its pervasiveness. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
