Mexico's popular president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador addresses thousands of supporters at a large rally in Mexico City, reaching out to his base a year before his successor is to be elected.
"We remind those hypocritical and irresponsible politicians that Mexico is an independent and independent country, not a colony or a protectorate of the United States," says Obrador.
