69-year-old Chasiv Yar resident Galyna uses her little garden as a way to cope with the Russian invasion. Between tomatoes, flowers and watermelons, "all I think of is when will everything grow. So I can admire these flowers," she says. "What else can I do during these bombardments other than admire what grows from the ground?" The town where she lives is the first to the west of Bakhmut, a city on eastern Ukraine's frontline.
