Description
A Danish recycling artist has hatched a worldwide treasure hunt for one of his fairytale-inspired creations. Thomas Dambo, best-known for his towering wooden “troll” sculptures, is sending fans on a complex quest to find his recently-completed hundredth troll, named ‘Moon Mother’. "I decided let's make a super secret one and make it an intricate treasure hunt" Dambo tells AFP, "I didn't tell anybody from my crew where we actually were building it". From hiding in a German forest to pipe playing on a South Korean mountain, Dambo’s 99 wooden troll sculptures are dotted around the world, with most being found in the United States and his native Denmark. The former graffiti artist and rapper launched the project back in 2014, after making his first two trolls for a music festival. He believes about ten million people have visited the sculptures, each of which is unique, with its own name, design and personality. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
