As voters head to the polls on Sunday for the fifth time in two years in Bulgaria, many protesters who in 2020 took part in the biggest demonstrations against the government since the end of communism feel their hopes slipping away. "We parted with the idea that change can happen quickly and suddenly" says Mila Kolarova, who AFP followed at the protests in 2020 and who continues to "fight and wait as long as we have to for the changes that could keep us and our children here".
