Description
An exhibition by Chinese dissident artist Ai Weiwei featuring monumental site-specific installations, blending politics and the personal, and his largest-ever Lego artwork inspired by Monet is opening at London's Design Museum. "My work always relate to personal history, memory, under the larger political and cultural landscape," the artist says. The son of a poet revered by former communist leaders, 65-year-old Ai is perhaps China's best-known modern artist and helped design the famous "Bird's Nest" stadium for Beijing's 2008 Olympics.
