Description
Excavators level many buildings left standing two months after a deadly earthquake hit Antakya, Turkey's fabled city known in ancient times as Antioch. Onlookers watch as what's left of their homes is turned to rubble, with engineers saying they could be liable to collapse. "It's very painful" says one resident watching, while another expresses their scepticism on Erdogan's pledge to rebuild the entire disaster zone by the start of next year. "Under these conditions, removing the rubble alone will take at least a year," says Ali Cimen, adding "the state... left us to die." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
