Description
A memorial at the scene of the infamous siege between FBI agents and members of the Branch Davidian religious group in Waco, Texas draws thousands of visitors a month. In today's deeply polarized United States, some see Waco as a symbol of government overreach.
Lawyer Dick DeGuerin, hired by the mother of cult leader David Koresh, was the first outsider to pass through the security cordon and enter the Mount Carmel compound, where the Davidians were holed up. He remains convinced that the 51-day siege could have ended peacefully without the deaths of nearly 80 people. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
