Colombia's first leftist president Gustavo Petro says he discussed with US' Biden a strategy for resolving the crisis in far-left leader Nicolas Maduro's Venezuela, which is deeply isolated by US and European sanctions. Petro says he "proposed" to hold elections first and then lift sanctions, so that Venezuelans can "freely decide, without sanctions, without pressure, their social and political destiny."
