Description
Trains are returning in Argentina and slowly gaining popularity. The country's extensive railway network suffered from a lack of investment and was largely dismantled in the 1990s during the neoliberal presidency of Carlos Menem (1989-1999). Now the train tracks are being renovated and the stations restored. "It's thirty years of abandonment that are gradually being reversed," says Santiago Bacigalupo, Trains National Museum Director, who says it's "key to look for customers who have been lost" during that period.
