Description
Ahead of Pope Francis' three-day visit to Budapest, Hungarians say they expect a message of peace regarding the war in neighbouring Ukraine, although they doubt it will have tangible results. "What he says about the war is positive" says Jozsef Fehervari, "whether he can have a real impact on the Ukraine war situation. I don't think so". The Pope's visit, due to begin on Friday, comes weeks after a health scare, during which the 86-year-old spent three nights in hospital with bronchitis. Francis will meet Hungary's nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the self-styled "defender of Christian Europe. "Hungary can be seen as a Christian country" says Andras Toth, another resident of Budapest, "Christian values were always significant in the past and they are still signficant." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
