Comic Con Cape Town opens its doors to numerous fans and cosplayers dressed up in some of their favourite fantasy characters. “I definitely think it’s long overdue. We have had such a big community here that has gone unnoticed for years,” says one visitor. Amongst the comic book authors participating at the event, Bill Masuku, the Zimbabwean illustrator who created the black female superhero Captain South Africa who stands out for her stance of non-violence.
