Description
A human rights group in Burkina Faso reports that the toll from a village massacre carried out by men in army uniform is more than double the official figure of 60 dead. The group says at least 136 civilians, including 50 women and 21 children, were killed on 20 April in the village of Karma.
"This is one massacre too many that our country, Burkina Faso, does not deserve, and we must do everything possible to ensure that this never happens again in our country," says the General Secretary of the Collective against Impunity and Stigmatisation of Communities, Dr Daouda Diallo. SOUNDBITES
