Description
On World Press Freedom Day, a Finnish newspaper reveals a project that aims to overcome Russian media restrictions by hiding information about the conflict in Ukraine in a popular computer game among Russian gamers.
The newspaper Helsingin Sanomat circumvents censorship through the online shooter game Counter-Strike, by hiding their war reporting in a secret room on a custom map. "We hope that at least a few Russians, most likely young men who play video games there, will stop for a moment to think about the situation there," says editor-in-chief of Helsingin Sanomat, Antero Mukka.
