Description
"He completed his sentences, but unfortunately, he's still in jail", says Ahmed Alnuaimi, an Emirati living in exile and brother of a prisoner of conscience in the United Arab Emirates. At an event in Geneva, Alnuaimi spoke alongside academic Matthew Hedges, who descibes some of his experiences of being detained in the country for seven months on false charges of spying for the British government. According to Falah Sayed, Human Rights Officer at MENA Rights Group, there are "56 prisoners of conscience currently in the the UAE." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
