"We are really in an unprecedented situation insofar as we are currently observing levels that we are supposed to observe in dry years in July or August," explains Hichem Tachrift, hydrogeologist at the Syndicat mixte des nappes de la Plaine du Roussillon, as new restrictions are implemented in the French Pyrénées-Orientales.
