Fleeing Sudanese fill arrival documents outside the Egyptian customs' offices at the Qastal-Ashkit border crossing as they wait for their luggage and documents to be checked before resuming their journey to the southern Egyptian city of Aswan. Every day, new families arrive from Khartoum to take shelter in Egypt, the big northern neighbour, after a bumpy and harrowing 1,000-kilometre (600-mile) road trip through the desert. IMAGES
