In Istanbul, Turks react as Recep Tayyip Erdogan heads for a runoff in the country's momentous presidential elections, with one attacking his challenger's "gaffes" another blaming the opposition's underwhelming peformance on its failure to "distance itself from some parties". With 49.5 percent of the vote, the Turkish president emerged from his toughest election test unbowed and in a strong position to extend two decades of his Islamic-rooted rule by another five years on May 28.
