White House veteran Amy Pope will become the first woman to head the UN's International Organization for Migration (IOM) after beating her boss Antonio Vitorino in a leadership vote. Taking the seat on October 1st, she says she intends to steer the organization to "build more regular pathways for people, whether they're in distress, or whether to ensure that we have the workforce of the future."
