Description
Ukraine says that law enforcement has detained the head of the country's supreme court in a $2.7 million bribery inquiry, as Kyiv pursues anti-graft measures required for closer integration with the European Union. Two people, including the court's chief Vsevolod Kniaziev, have been detained as part of the investigation. Kniaziev was removed from his position after other judges voted overwhelmingly in favour of the dismissal (140 to 2). "This is the biggest-ever case" implicating the judiciary, says the head of Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), Semen Kryvonos. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
