Residents in the eastern Spanish village of Ontinyent take stock after heavy overnight rain caused roads and schools to be closed and damaged local infrastructure. The village is located on the banks of the Clariano river, near which vegetation was flattened and traffic cones bent out of shape by high rushing waters. "There are blocked streets, landslides, some schools have flooded and have had to suspend classes" says Fran Puig, an Ontinyent resident.
