Description
Women in a street market in Istanbul discuss their concerns ahead of Turkey’s critical runoff election on May 28. The opposition is searching high and low for votes as it tries to push secular leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu over the line in next Sunday's presidential runoff. One group being targetted is women, particularly working class housewives -- the bedrock of Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s support. "There is no place for women in the Erdogan government's plans" says Nurgun Eren, one of those at the market, "I want change. Otherwise a terrible future awaits us". Offering a different view is Serpil Kuskaya, who explains "I hope Tayyip Erdogan gets 55 percent, 60 percent, even 70 percent. I love him very much... we have so many ungrateful people."
