"My most recent decisions have shown that I am truly willing to let go of power, especially when it comes to protecting democracy in Ecuador," says Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso at the presentation of his second year's report in Quito.
Last week, Lasso issued a decree dissolving the opposition-controlled legislature, a day after it opened an impeachment trial against him. Ecuador will hold early elections on August 20. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
