Each judicial summons for opposition leader Ousmane Sonko, raises fears of unrest, often resulting in the closure of schools in Zuiginchor, his hometown, and elsewhere in Senegal. The students at Djignabo Bassene High School have already missed more than a fortnight of classes since the beginning of the year. "If the State maintains" the exams, "it will be a catastrophe for the Ziguinchor residents", says Chérif Samsidine Aidara, a student preparing for his final high school exams coming up in July.
