Description
Human stories form the heart of the Imperial War Museum's first exhibition on the Troubles, which opens on Friday May 26 and showcases recently collected objects and new first-hand testimony from Northern Ireland. Rather than a narrative history of the conflict, this exhibition introduces people's stories, voices and perspectives, allowing visitors can hear from individuals on all sides of the conflict, from republican to loyalist, paramilitaries to British soldiers and local police and ordinary civilians. The curator of "Northern Ireland: Living with the Troubles", Craig Murray, says "people in Northern Ireland know about this story, but people here need to know what the story was."
