Description
The largest ever 'South Korea-US combined-joint live fire exercise' is held in Pocheon city located around 30 kilometres from the DMZ and the border with North Korea.
Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the armed forces and the 70th anniversary of the Republic of Korea (ROK)-US alliance this year, today’s training was conducted with the goal of improving the ROK-US combined and joint operation capabilities.
The training aimed to strengthen deterrence against North Korea through manoeuvring and live-fire exercises based on North Korea's provocation scenarios.
The exercise was held on the largest scale ever, with the involvement of 2,500 soldiers and 610 military equipment from 71 military units of South Korea and the US. IMAGES
