Stockshots of the Russian city of Kursk, the capital of the eponymous region in the west of Russia, some 150 km from Ukraine's border. The region has been targeted by attacks since Moscow launched its offensive in Ukraine last year. Memories of the "Great Patriotic War" are very much kept alive in Kursk, the area around the city was the place of the Battle of Kursk, one of the key ones in the Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War, became one the milestone events of WWII.
