Description
Supporters of jailed theatre director Yevgeniya Berkovich and playwright Svetlana Petriychuk are at the Moscow City Court to show support and express disappointment after judges refuse to release their colleagues following an appeal hearing. The director and author have been detained over their award-winning play about Russian women recruited online to marry radical Islamists in Syria. Both are accused of "justifying terrorism" and face up to seven years in prison over their play "Finist, the Brave Falcon." "I feel devastated. I think such a harsh sentence is unjustified," says art manager Tatiana Kavrigina. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
