Description
An explanatory letter, found on Charlotte Corday just after the assassination of the revolutionary Jean-Paul Marat, was sold for 215,000 euros at Versailles. Acquired by the Normandy Department of Heritage and Culture, it will go "to the headquarters of the Normandy region in the former Abbaye aux Dames in Caen", explains the auctioneer at the auction house, Jean-Pierre Osenat.
