Earlier, the court ordered the trial be held behind closed doors, a decision that the father of Alexei Navalny called "shameless." Yelena Ivanova, who was shopping at a store near the colony where Navalny is being tried and is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence, thinks that "the whole point is to jail him perpetually, so that he never gets out."
