In the city of Stepanakert, capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, an Armenian-populated region that broke away from Azerbaijan after the fall of the Soviet Union, the shop shelves at the grocery store lie bare, with supplies hit by a blockade which Yerevan claims has led to a humanitarian crisis complete with shortages of food and fuel.
